Abstract:
Following other analog to digital transformations such as CDs, cell phones,
and still cameras, radio is also crossing over to digital revolution.
Digital radio offer CD-quality sound, data services such as traffic, news,
video and additional features.  In recent years, a number of digital radio
standards have emerged. In this seminar, terrestrial based digital radio
standards: Eureka 147 Digital Radio Broadcasting (DAB) and HD Radio
techology  will be presented. DSP-based receiver architectures will be
discussed.


Biography:


Mahmut Ciftci was born in Sanliurfa, Turkey in 1974. He got his BS degree
from Uludag University, Bursa, Turkey in 1994, MS and PhD Degrees from
Georgia Institute of Technology in 1998 and 2002, respectively. He joined
Digital Radio group at Texas Instruments in June 2002. His research
interests include Digital Radio, Signal Processing, Telecommunications and
Chaos.
