Abstract:

LaTeX is a high-quality typesetting system, with features designed for the production of technical and scientific documentation. LaTeX is the de facto standard for the communication and publication of scientific documents. This presentation is a basic introduction to LaTeX.

Biography:

Raviv Raich was born in Israel. He received both his B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees in electrical engineering from Tel-Aviv University, Tel-Aviv, Israel, in 1994 and 1998, respectively. From 1994 to 1997, he served as an electronic engineer in the Israeli Defense Force. During 1998 he was with the Department of Electrical Engineering---Systems, Tel-Aviv University, Tel-Aviv, Israel. During the same year he worked as a consultant for Tadiran Electronic Systems, Ltd., Holon, Israel. From the end of 1998 to fall 2000 he was working as a researcher with the communications team, Industrial Research Ltd., Wellington, New-Zealand. In fall 2000 he started the PhD program at Georgia Institute of Technology, doing his research at the Center for Signal and Image Processing (CSIP). His main research interests are statistical signal processing for communications, estimation, and detection theory.
