man ghostview or man xdvi
and reading the man page
lpr -Pprinter_name -Zduplex file_name.ps
Example: lpr -Podum -Zduplex foo.ps
where foo.ps is the file to be printed. To simplify the command, you can include the following command in your .cshrc file:
alias lpr2 "lpr -Podum"
enscript -p foo.ps
-2rG foo.c ghostview foo.ps (view the file) lpr -Podum foo.ps
(or lpr2 foo.ps if you have the
corresponding alias)In here, foo.ps is the output file (PostScript) (to be printed) and foo.c is the text or ASCII file (input file to be enscripted).
lpr -Plulafoo.ps
The laser printers should NEVER be used as a copier. Only print one copy of a document. Use a photocopier to make multiple copies. If you have an image in your document which will not reproduce well when photocopying, print multiple copies of that page only, and photocopy the rest.
Print quotas will be reset quarterly to 400 pages for the B&W printers, and 50 pages for the color printer. The 400 page quota is for all the B&W printers combined, not per printer. Please limit your printing accordingly. We realize that there will be an increase when working on qualifiers and theses, but please print as little as possible. If your printing becomes excessive, you will automatically receive a warning message. Your advisor will also receive a copy of this message. These warnings do not constitute a threat, but serve as a reminder to keep your printing down. Extreme or abusive cases will be handled individually.
The command prnt exists on the DSP network and on
the Office of Information Technology's (OIT) acme system. Every
student has an account on acme and access to
the printers available in the Rich building. We ask that you make
use of these printers whenever possible, especially when printing
large documents like drafts of your thesis. There are a number of
printers supported by prnt and they have a variety
of options. You can even print DVI files directly to their Xerox
printers. Printouts can be made double-sided, stapled, or with
holes for notebooks. These are ideal for rough drafts. There are
also postscript printers available. For more information, please
refer to the man page in acme.
